Last spring, Andrew traveled to Nuristan province Afghanistan and was embedded with our troops there. Andrew went on a mission with a US Provincial Reconstruction Team--a group of soldiers, sailors and airmen assigned to help build roads, generators, courthouses and other structures and services in this poor, rugged and difficult country. Andrew's mission was somewhat different: to debunk Hollywood's depiction of our troops as rapists, pawns, traumatized murderers and doers of atrocities. He returned to write an account of his experience for City Journal, the magazine of the Manhattan Institute. You can sample the article on his blog or read the whole thing here: http://www.city-journal.org/2008/18_4_afghanistan.html
